On Saturday afternoon at about 6:00 p.m. the Stanton County Sheriff’s office stopped a speeding vehicle on Hwy 275 just east of Norfolk. The vehicle was going 91 mph in the 70 mph zone and the driver, Jose Lemus-Castillo, 41, of Cleveland, MS was found to have an active federal ICE Detainer warrant for unlawful entry into the United States. Lemus-Castillo was taken into custody and cited for the speed violation and No Operators License and was then jailed on the federal warrant. “Traffic enforcement is more than just keeping people safe, it leads to getting wanted criminals off our roadways as well!” SHERIFF MIKE UNGER
