On Thursday morning the Sheriff’s office received a special thank you from Leo Sortino and his mother Andrea. Last Friday night during the height of the latest winter storm/blizzard Sheriff Unger and Deputy Matt Gartner helped get Andrea to the hospital after she went into labor at her Clarkson home. Driving through the terrible conditions she was escorted all the way to FRHS in Norfolk and gave birth to Leo early Saturday morning. Leo and his mother wished to personally thank the Sheriff and his office for their efforts and help. Leo is welcomed home by his mother and father and three older sisters. Sheriff Unger added “this is what makes this job worthwhile and special!”
