Just before noon on Sunday afternoon the Stanton County Sheriff’s office responded to and investigated a one vehicle rollover accident on Hwy 275 just east of 562nd Avenue that sent a 30 yea rold Bellevue woman to the hospital for treatment. The accident occurred when the eastbound SUV lost control during a rain event and on a wet highway. The SUV entered the south ditch and rolled striking a group of small trees coming to rest back on its wheels. Initial 911 calls indicated their maybe children involved and it was found the driver was the lone occupant upon arrival. She was extricated from the wreckage and taken to Faith Services by Ambulance. Stanton Fire and Rescue also responded to the scene. Seatbelts were in use along with deployed airbags that obviously lessened any more serious injuries. The SUV is considered a total loss and one lane of eastbound Hwy 2745 was closed for about one hour as the scene was cleared. “Seatbelts do make a positive difference”. SHERIFF MIKE UNGER
