At about 11:11 a.m. on Wednesday morning the Stanton County Sheriff’s office was notified and responded to a one vehicle injury accident on Hwy 275 near 572nd Avenue about three miles west of Pilger. The accident occurred for unknown reasons when an eastbound KIA left the roadway and entered the south ditch and rolled several times trapping the lone driver in the vehicle. The 42 year old female driver of Norfolk was extricated from the wreckage using the “Jaws of Life” by Pilger Fire and Rescue and the woman was transported to FRHS by ambulance for treatment. Seatbelts and multiple airbags are credited with preventing more serious injuries. Its possible the driver suffered a medical episode prior to the crash and it was not witnessed by anyone. The vehicle is a total loss and Stanton County Emergency Management and Wisner Rescue assisted at the scene.
**UPDATE** The injured Driver has been transported to UNMC in Omaha for further medical treatment
