On Thursday afternoon at about 12:55 p.m. the Stanton County Sheriff’s office observed a vehicle being driven by a 42 year old Norfolk man who was wanted on a Federal Felony Arrest Warrant near Pilger on Hwy 275. The subject, Michael Vanness was considered dangerous and may flee. Near Spurville on Hwy 275 the Sheriff’s office undertook a hi-risk felony traffic stop and took Vaness into custody without incident. He was also found to have an active Hall County Arrest Warrant for DWI. Vaness was then jailed pending his turnover to federal authorities and his vehicle was impounded and towed from the scene.
