Stanton Man Seriously Injured in One Vehicle Accident Southeast of Stanton

At 5:59 p.m.on Sunday evening the Stanton County Sheriff’s office was dispatched to and investigated a one vehicle rollover accident about four miles southeast of Stanton on the Stanton Golf Course Road that caused serious head injuries to the lone 67 year old driver from Stanton. The accident occurred when the driver who was westbound, lost control of his 1932 Ford Coupe and left the roadway and rolled onto its side. The driver had to be extricated from the wreckage by the Sheriff’s office and Stanton Fire and Rescue. A medical helicopter was requested to come to the scene but due to a lengthy response the driver was taken to FRHS by ambulance. Seatbelts were not in use and alcohol was not involved. The vehicle suffered major damage to an unknown value extent due to its historical nature. “The Sheriff’s office always asks that everyone use their seatbelts, not just because it is the law, but because they do often prevent more serious injuries and death.” SHERIFF MIKE UNGER
