Howells Man Jailed After Felony 4th Offense DWI Arrest

On Friday night at around 10:00 p.m. the Stanton County Sheriff’s office responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch near 563rd Avenue and Union Creek Road southwest of Stanton. A lone male driver was found in the vehicle and was obviously impaired. Douglas Knoell, 54, of Howells was arrested after failing field sobriety test and booked at the Sheriff’s office where his BAC. was more than twice the legal limit. It was further found that this was the 4th DWI arrest of Knoell. He was then jailed pending the posting of a cash bond. Knoell was also cited for No Valid Operators License and Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia.
