2025 statistics from the 7th Judicial District show the Stanton County Sheriff’s office again leads the entire district in traffic violation citations issued. The Sheriff’s office was second again in filed criminal cases only behind the much larger populated Madison County that includes the City of Norfolk. Traffic citations in Stanton County increased about 11% and criminal filings rose from 341 to 410. In 2025 the Sheriff’s office had 3543 arrest and citations issued which was more than a 12% increase from 2024. “Going into my last year as Sheriff, I take a lot of pride in the efforts of my deputies going out and performing at a high level and making Stanton County and all of Northeast Nebraska a safer place to travel and live.” SHERIFF MIKE UNGER
