At about 3:30 a.m. on Monday morning the Stanton County Sheriff’s office stopped a speeding vehicle on Hwy 35 traveling 77 mph in the 60 mph zone near Woodland Park. As a result of the stop a 20 year old female driver was found to be intoxicated. Kylie Rutz became uncooperative during the DWI investigation and arrest she began swinging her arms during which she scratched a Sheriff’s deputy drawing blood. She was physically subdued and placed under arrested for DWI, Driving During Suspension, MIP, Resisting Arrest and Assault on a Peace Officer. She was later booked at the Sheriff’s office and has an initial court appearance in November. A Madison County deputy responded to the area after a call for assistance.
