Just before 4:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon, the Stanton County Sheriff’s office was notified of a one vehicle accident on 561st Avenue two miles south of Hoskins. Information was the lone 15 year old driver was injured and trapped in the wreckage. The accident occurred when a northbound SUV driven by the 15 year old left the roadway and struck a large tree head-on. He was trapped with serious injuries and was extricated from the wreckage with the Jaws of Life by Hoskins/Woodland Park Fire and Rescue and transported to FRHS for treatment. Seatbelts and airbags are credited with helping saving the youth and the SUV is a total loss. Stanton County Emergency Management also responded to the scene.
