Wayne Man Arrested for DWI After Pickup Crash-Lucky to not be Seriously Injured

Just before 9:00 p.m. on Monday night, the Stanton County Sheriff’s office was notified by a cell phone notification of a vehicle crash on 560th Avenue north of 845th Road near the Peace Church located near Hwy 35. Upon arriving the lone male driver, Jade Hostetler, 21, of Wayne was found to have driven his pickup through a “Bridge Closed” sign and into a deep creek bed on a minimum maintenance road. The accident caused airbags to deploy and Hostetler declined medical attention at the scene. Hostetler appeared to be intoxicated and after failing sobriety test, he was placed under arrest for DWI. He was then booked at the Sheriff’s office for DWI and Driving on a Closed Roadway and released on a set bond. The pickup is considered a total loss.
