At about midnight on Sunday morning the Stanton County Sheriff’s office was notified of an underage drinking party in an open field three miles southeast of Norfolk. Upon arriving it was verified that a group of underage minors were present consuming alcoholic liquor. A further investigation led to the arrest of three young adults on DWI as well as MIP charges as they drove from the party area. Numerous other minors were also charged with MIP and three underage males who were detained at the scene and then fled on foot were also charged with MIP and Obstructing a Police Officer. The alleged party host who was identified and was also cited for Aiding and Abetting MIP. “Even though its unpopular with many people, the Sheriff’s office will continue to strictly enforce alcohol laws and violations involving minors and especially those that may involve moving vehicles”.
