At about 8:26 a.m. on Friday morning the Stanton County Sheriff’s office responded to and investigated a two-vehicle injury accident at the junction of Hwy 15 and Hwy 32 in Southern Stanton County that sent a driver and his passenger to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries by Howells Rescue. Both were occupants of a car that was southbound on Hwy 15 when a westbound van pulled into their path on Hwy 32 after stopping for the stop sign. The Collison pushed both vehicles into the eastbound lanes of Hwy32. Three occupants of the van were treated at the scene by Howells and Clarkson EMS and declined medical transport. The 73-year-old driver of the car was trapped in the wreckage until he could be removed safely. Both vehicles are considered a total loss, and seatbelts were in use along with airbag deployment.
