Icy Roads on Hwy 275 Cause First Injury Accident of New Winter Driving Season

At about 8:45 a.m. on Saturday morning the Stanton County Sheriff’s office responded to and investigated a one vehicle rollover accident about two miles west of Pilger on Hwy 275. The accident occurred when a eastbound SUV driven by Juan Villarreal. 51, of Norfolk lost control due to very icy road conditions and crossed the westbound lane and entered the north ditch rolling twice. Villarreal was transported to FRHS by Wisner Rescue for treatment of a his injuries. Seat belts were in use and multiple airbags deployed preventing more serious injuries. The SUV is a total loss and Villareal was cited for not having a valid drivers license or vehicle registration. Pilger Fire and Rescue also responded to the scene.
