The Sheriff’s office received several ballistic duty vest that are designed to resist penetration of high caliber rifle rounds. The vest were granted to the Sheriff’s office free of charge from the United States Deputy Sheriff’s Association after a request by Sheriff Unger for the very valuable and expensive vest. The vest are specifically intended for high risk situations where armed encounters are expected and are a very useful law enforcement tool. The Stanton County Sheriff’s office is very grateful for the financial support of the USDSA.
