On Thursday evening at about 6:15 p.m. the Stanton County Sheriff’s office responded to and investigated a one vehicle rollover accident just east of Pilger on Hwy 275. The accident occurred when a westbound SUV driven by Eduardo Castro-Santos, 28, of Norfolk left the roadway due to icy road conditions and entered the south ditch rolling several times before coming to rest back on its wheels. Castro-Santos and two passengers including a seven year old were treated at the scene and declined medical transport. Castro-Sanchez was cited for No Operators License and the SUV was a total loss. Seatbelts and airbags were in use and both Pilger Fire and Rescue and Wisner Fire and Rescue responded to the scene. Stanton County Emergency Management also assisted on the scene with traffic reduced to one lane for about 45 minutes.
