On Monday in Stanton County District Court a 35 year old Fremont man was sentenced up to seven years in prison following his convictions in connection to a rural farm house burglary last fall south of Pilger. Carl Epley was sentenced to 4-6 years for being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm and One year for Theft. Epley and a co-defendant Jennifer Oswald, 41, of Beemer were arrested earlier this year by the Stanton County Sheriff’s office following an investigation into the rural break-in of the occupied farm house. Oswald was sentenced to ninety days in jail and a $500.00 fine following her conviction for Theft for her involvement. Guns and other property were taken in the break-in and a majority of the property has been recovered by the Sheriff’s office.
