On Monday night the Stanton County Sheriff’s office responded to a medical emergency at a residence just east of Norfolk. The report was an adult male may have overdosed on oxycodone and fentanyl. During contact with the male a controlled substance was found in his possession and found to be Cocaine. Clay Carter was medically cleared and admitted to possession and use of the cocaine and was placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Prohibited Acts. He was jailed pending the posting of a $20,000. bond
The Sheriff’s office is also continuing to investigate the August 2019 death of Jose Osorio who died of a fentanyl overdose at his Woodland Park residence. Osorio was 26 years old at the time of his death and the person responsible for providing him the lethal substance has been identified and an arrest is possible in the near future. Anyone with information on his death is asked to contact the Sheriff’s office.
